The Fairmont, Jaipur

Vacationing again with my sister in Jaipur. We went to dine at the recently opened Fairmont hotel, the first one in India. It was such a treat to the eyes. Built like a huge palace, it has beautiful interiors and grounds. Here are a few pics:

The food was great and so was the experience.

Auroville again

I went back to Auroville. With a close set of friends this time. It was fun. The trip almost got cancelled thanks to my visa interview, but I manged to make it. We drove around on bikes, frolicked on the beach, ate delicious food and tried to pack in as much in the rushed 2-day trip.

Oh how I missed the sea.

Comic Con Express, Bangalore

Good fun. Lots of stuff to buy. Funny costumes. Lots of people.

Some interesting excerpts from a soon-to-be-released graphic novel - The Kuru Chronicles

 Tintin :-)

I wish I could afford this awesome Dexter artwork

Letter form Design

This week I am in another workshop, conducted by none other that Mahendra Patel. He is quite famous I hear. An NID alumni and professor, he has been teaching letter form design since 48 years (WOW) !!
He's good fun, quite animated and is always telling us some stories from his past.

We started making letters with a pen made with a wooden stick. We moved on to cutting letters out of black chart paper and today we experimented with brush-paint and reed pens. It is quite an experience.

Photography Workshop

So after I got my baby home, I was really looking forward to this photography workshop
that I had signed up for. I had a good teacher. He was funny and fun.
And I now know sooo much about my camera (in a week) than I'd have known in a month.
We had different assignments, one of which was - Street Fashion. I was so inspired by The Sartorialist, and so excited. Well, I also learnt that it is extremely difficult to shoot people while they are walking, moving etc. This is one of my fav images from the shoot.

I love the bag, the contrasting colors and the way the photo came out.
This is also one of the few photos that wasn't blurred.

The workshop was great fun. We went to Pottery Town, Dhobi Ghat and MG Road to shoot.
I was rather sad that it was only for a week.
