Mini vacation

Actually, Micro-mini would be more appropriate as it was shorter than 24 hours... actually not even 12 hours.
We'll we drove out of Bombay at 11 pm on Friday evening and headed to Kashid, our fav beach destination. We lost our way, drove in circles, took about 20 u-turns and finally reached our destination at 3 am.

Slept on the beach, slept when it was dark with a million stars in the clear sky... and awoke to dawn...it was beautiful.

Got up, played football...yes actually played..haha...but it was super fun.

(ya thats me, .making a big fool of myself)

Ate breakfast in a tiny shack..pohe and anda bhurji.
It was perfect. A perfect micro-mini vacation.

And here is the mandatory "my feet were on a beach" picture !

Type Art

So I discovered a brilliant new website today - Type is art . This is such a fun website. You can make interesting art using parts of typographical characters - counters, ears, descenders etc.
(sorry for all the type jargon)

I had a fun time and this is surely becoming one of my fav type websites. Do go try it out.
Here is my first attempt:
A type-tree of sorts

A little inspiration on a dull day

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”

Masked

This semester was fun, despite being the most hectic ! A lot of hands-on work, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a course on Character Illustration. We had to draw a character of our own, come up with characteristics and then transform it from 2D to 3D, using paper mache. I wasn't easy at all. It took tons of effort and a lot of time (which I did not have) I stayed up nights for the final submission, but it was worthwhile. I love my little mask. Emm, not little, it's quite large actually. Twice the size of my head I think, or maybe slightly bigger. Here is how it all come together.

Started off with making a wire frame.
Five layers of paper mache came on top of that !
 Two layers of tissue paper
And then all the accessories - wool, paper, m-seal etc.
And finally, I could wear it :)
I love you, Hairald !
Here is his story -
